Beauty of Western Massachusetts

Took this photo yesterday (Tuesday June 19) at Forest Park in Springfield.

I was working on a story on how to stay cool during extreme heat and humidity. This certainly made me realize how beautiful western Massachusetts can be! Often WMass gets a bad name for being boring or dangerous – especially Springfield – but to get this gorgeous park in the middle of a city? That’s pretty awesome.

Trying Something New…

Epic fail, yes, epic fail.

I said in my last post that I would start writing more on here. Well, looks like that didn’t quite work out, huh? Oops. So once again, my apologies.

My new strategy: I just downloaded the WordPress app for my phone. I’m hoping this would lead to more, albeit perhaps shorter and more casual, posts. The way I see it, at least that way I can write more often and share with everyone my life in western Massachusetts!

To make up for the lack of posts, a Dixie dog!

A Splash of Color

Oh helloooooo!

It’s been a while…

So why not make my first post after a long hiatus about my favorite topic, clothes?

Many people know already I love shopping. Of course I do not have a reserve pot of gold to spend on clothes, but I do my best to bargain shop and keep up with the trend.

The latest trend I noticed… skinny colorful pants.

I was at first very, very, very hesitant to try them on. Why? Well, as you can imagine, going bright is always tricky, and when you bring that brightness to pants… to skinny pants… it gets even trickier.

But I was inspired after seeing this:

Former Kate Middleton, now known as Duchess of Cambridge, rocked red skinny denim at a field hockey game. And she looked fabulous! So why not? Give it a try.

I found these cords at Loft. On sale, not skinny, but straight legs.

I knew the light pink pair would be a great addition to my closet because one of my friends had bought them the last time we went on a shopping spree in Boston.

Then I decided to be a little more bold and try different colors. Sadly in my size, my options were limited to green and magenta.

Not going to lie… magenta – deep pink-ish purple-ish – didn’t quite look right. Perhaps a little too bright. But emerald green surprised me! Who knew you could wear green pants after St. Patrick’s Day?

Now my next challenge is finding tops that would match my new pants. Obviously dark colors for the light pink pair… but I’m also thinking faint yellow for emerald green could work too.

Unique Pets – How About a Bear?

Among my friends, I may be notorious for constantly browsing the web for cute puppy photos, but when you find videos like this, how can you possibly stay way?

This week, I found these gems on the web and realized, why can’t I have a baby panda bear as a pet? Well, I suppose grown bears can pose danger on human beings, but when they are this cute and cuddly, I can’t help but think bears are just too darn adorable. Take a look.

1. Baby Panda Bear Faceplants: at approximately :32, this baby panda takes a nosedive, but in a really cute way.

2. Polite Bear Waves! Seriously, how can you not love this?

3. Probably my favorite… Shaq with a Panda. No words necessary, y’all.

Bonus: Shaq’s picture came from this Buzzfeed post, 32 Pictures You Need to See Before the World Ends, and yes, they are a must-see. You won’t regret it, I promise.
